Project OMP

The wedding I worked on 4th of July was a super special one, because Olivia of Zoie Events got married! I’ve been freelancing as an assistant coordinator with her this past year and aside from being an awesome boss and event coordinator, she’s now a sweet friend. 🙂 Olivia married Peter, with whom I went to high school (he was a senior when I was a freshman) so I saw some old friends at the wedding I hadn’t seen in about 10 years!

Um, gorgeous much?! Photo by Jennifer Fujikawa Photography, via here. Cannot wait to see the rest!! (I also went to high school with Jen..!)

The wedding was held at Calamigos Equestrian in Burbank. The ceremony was outdoors on a beautiful grassy lawn, with an indoor reception in the Polo Room. Some details from the welcome table… all florals and paper goodies and event design by Mai of Bunch Studio (who is unfortunately no longer taking clients). She is one of the most talented people I have ever met… like EVER.

Guest”book” photo-frame– Mai painted this beautiful LA/SF skyline with watercolors (where P & O are from, respectively)

The “OMP” of #projectOMP used to stand for “oh my proposal” as Peter was planning his proposal with the help of friends, but turned into “Olivia Marries Peter.” Loved this sandwich board sign at the entrance to the Polo Room, adorned with olive branches, seeded eucalyptus, and tons of other gorgeous greens.

Hand-lettered place-cards, with a garland of florals and greens with the prettiest blush and peach garden roses

Some tables had one large centerpiece; others had a collection of various vintage vases like this one. I may or may not have made some of those arrangements. :X I assisted Mai for a couple days before the wedding with florals, and hooooly moly, flower arranging is so much harder than it looks! I really thought I’d pick it up super quickly but the learning curve was steep for me. Which is why I stuck to the smaller arrangements, ha!

On the bread plates were pairs of coasters with Olivia and Peter’s emblem heat-embossed on the corners. Menu cards were placed on the napkins with sprigs of lavender on top… they smelled so good!

Loooved Mai’s lettering on this sign (and on the sashes on the back of O&P’s chairs). Awesome foreals.
